More of a Guideline, Really

August 18, 2009

Ahh, yes, here it is. My at-least-yearly, sometimes-more-often rant about sending a child to school.

Please don’t tell me you forgot when the first day was. Don’t tell me you thought it would be better for whatever silly reason. Your actions tell him right from the first day that attendance doesn’t matter, and how the frak is he going to learn if he doesn’t come to school?

Aww, to hell with it. You don’t care. Why should you? When they drop out of school because it’s too hard (because they don’t have the foundation because they WEREN’T THERE), you’ll just help them get on disability or welfare or something, and then bitch about the worthless school system that couldn’t teach your kid anything on the seventy or so days a school year that you found the energy to send the kid to school.
