So after two “don’t you talk to your brother” hints from family in the last week, I emailed my beloved big brother.  Yes, we do live in the same city, but you have to understand.  He’s busy, and so am I.  (when I’m published, any doubters will know I really was busy!)  (not that D doubts.)  And I really, passionately, with a vile and unending revulsion, hate the telephone.

Anyway.  My nephew arrived last Saturday.  It’s been a difficult trimester, so since he’s healthy, no one will be complaining that he’s five weeks early.  Especially as he’s 6 pounds, 14 oz, and 19 inches long!

I’m a bit knocked for a loop.  I have other nieces and nephews, but they are all far away.  I’ve seen J’s kids once.  I’ve seen P’s kid (Chris’s nephew) once.  With the way D and I communicate, I may only see little M once, who knows?

But right now I’m a bit knocked for a loop.

Welcome, new one!  But don’t think because you don’t have any siblings  that you need to take up the family tradition with your cousin.  (Family tradition on his dad’s side is to try to kill your siblings.  God knows D pushed me out of more than one tree.)
