Onward

Just to say, first chapter of The Perfect Gift is up on the fanfics page.

I’m done. And not in a good way.

It’s 2330. I’ve been up since the roofers got on the roof at about 0600. I’ve screwed around with Twitter, looked at lolcats, done some laundry, and oh, hey, I actually wrote 600 some words. Not sure how many–if any–I’ll keep, but I did write them.

Cleared my desk a bit, put clean dishes away, loaded the dishwasher. Made the kid do math and chores and clean her room a bit. Took pictures of the cats in hopes I will soon come up with brilliant captions.

yeesh. It’s probably a good thing I’m going back to work.

Oh, and I fixed about twenty of the broken blog entries, and put up another Weiss fanfic. It’s here. All the usual warnings apply. It’s YAOI, and ADULTS ONLY. Ya hear me? kthxbai

This morning I got bulldozed by one heck of a plotbunny. Unfortunately, (only because I’m really trying to work on Flame–you hear that, guys? FLAME) it was a fanfic SMUTbunny.

Seriously. Highly smutty little bunny, there.

Three thousand, six hundred and ninety words later, it’s three thirty in the morning and all my guys are trying to figure out exactly who came up with that.

When MY muses deny responsibility, you know it’s bad.

Except–it’s pretty damn good. If it’s half as hot as I think it is…

Tomorrow I shall submit it to the Bly-O-Meter. If she thinks it is hot as I think it is, I’ll change it enough it’s no longer fanfic and…enter it in a smut contest maybe. Or offer it for my friend’s magazine. Nothing like displaying a wide range of talent, right?

I went to bed early.

Just what I need, a new fandom.  But, well…Stargate Atlantis is pretty darn good.

A little background.  While I like yaoi, I don’t really go much beyond the Weiss fandom.  Bly, however, reads a LOT of different stuff.  And one day not too long ago, she stumbled across Shepherd/McKay fanfics.

Yes, she started watching the (apparently straight) guys of Stargate Atlantis because she liked reading about them in love.  And then she dragged me into it.

But it’s pretty good.  Not as good at the start as Firefly, but I’m seeing growth already, and I’ve only watched half of the first season.  (Bly, of course, has everything that’s out so far on DVD.)  Most shows, as we all know, pretty much suck for the first year or two.  It’s because no one wants to invest the time in thinking things out too much till the show gets picked up, and then they’re in too much of a hurry to get the show made before it gets cancelled.

*sighs once more for the incredible Firefly*

Anywhoo.  Stargate Atlantis is good, and getting better.  I haven’t seen SG-1 (the TV series) and I follow SGA just fine.  I would, however, recommend you see the movie.  Though I think you could manage without it.  You can check it out here.  Don’t be afraid.  In the show both guys like girls.
