I stayed home from work today.  I think it’s the second time I’ve done that since I worked for the district.  I’ve gone in late because I felt icky, come home early a few times when I couldn’t hang tough any longer, but it’s incredibly rare for me to stay home the entire day.  I just can’t stand the thought of what my desk will look like.

Today, though, it was necessary.  I was icky and woozy and had a hard time standing up for any length of time.  Hope sounded like a talkative seal.  I sent her back to bed.  She went willingly.  That, my friends, is a SICK Hopey.

Between bouts of napping, I did her laundry and mine, and wrote 639 words on Joss.  She finished Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and started The Goblet of Fire.  Bly said I should stay home every day, I make her work day fly by.

Yeah, I know I’m sick.  And I worked today, though I did come home early and crash for a couple hours.

But still, I’m getting worried.  When I got up from my nap, Joss was jabbering away, and I sat down and got to work.  I wrote 1085 words today.  (yay!)  The problem is, to ‘win’ at NaNoWriMo, I need to average 1,666.66 words a day.  I can do that, I’ve done better.  When I was totally focused, knew where I was going, and was on summer vacation.

They’ll give me the month off for NaNoWriMo, won’t they?  I mean, it’s important.  They have to see that.  Don’t they?

Yeah, that’s what I thought.  Guess I better start cruising the NaNo forums for those easy ways to up your word count.

Like it isn't bad enough yet.

Yes, Joss is little.

I think that was worth it.

Holy shit, what a journey.
