Quoting from this site:

On Saturday, police found 15 skulls near a house in the town of Noida after digging up the back garden and drains… The discovery has provoked the fury of many residents of a nearby slum, who said complaints about their missing children had been ignored by police…

“We told police that we suspected this man, but they repeatedly ignored out complaints,” Kuldeep Kumar, whose four-year-old nephew has been missing since February, told the Associated Press news agency.

Almost forty children are missing, it says later in the article.  Over recent months.  No one ever feels the police work fast enough, but forty children?  Kidnapped and raped and murdered.  How can such things happen?

I feel like this vacation is taking forever.  Not that I’m complaining!   Damn, but it feels good to be accomplishing something.

You guessed it, I’m editing again.  I was stuck last night, but this morning I tried combining two problem scenes, hacking off anything that stuck out after the crash, and came out happy.  (my muses, however, are traumatized.  They’ll get over it.)

Yesterday at the bookstore (god I love bookstores) I had another great idea to up the tension, and it won’t take much to add it in.  Hee hee…

Okay.  Back to work.  Only eight working days till I go back to my job!

So after two “don’t you talk to your brother” hints from family in the last week, I emailed my beloved big brother.  Yes, we do live in the same city, but you have to understand.  He’s busy, and so am I.  (when I’m published, any doubters will know I really was busy!)  (not that D doubts.)  And I really, passionately, with a vile and unending revulsion, hate the telephone.

Anyway.  My nephew arrived last Saturday.  It’s been a difficult trimester, so since he’s healthy, no one will be complaining that he’s five weeks early.  Especially as he’s 6 pounds, 14 oz, and 19 inches long!

I’m a bit knocked for a loop.  I have other nieces and nephews, but they are all far away.  I’ve seen J’s kids once.  I’ve seen P’s kid (Chris’s nephew) once.  With the way D and I communicate, I may only see little M once, who knows?

But right now I’m a bit knocked for a loop.

Welcome, new one!  But don’t think because you don’t have any siblings  that you need to take up the family tradition with your cousin.  (Family tradition on his dad’s side is to try to kill your siblings.  God knows D pushed me out of more than one tree.)

durned lack of progress…

So here’s Friday’s evening progress report, posted to Saturday because it’s after midnight.

And the report is…barely anything.  Had to go shopping, had to drop in on the chat I scheduled ’cause my Yahoo group was growing apart…bleh.

But it was necessary stuff.  And I did edit one scene, and come up with an idea to up the conflict and suspense most of the way through the book.

Yay me!

Yay bed!  g’night.

Wow.  Sometime today, this blog will reach 50,000 hits.  It hasn’t even been a year since I reset the counter, delighted at reaching 25,000.  That 25K took two and a half years.

*bows sincerely*  Thank you for your interest.  Please buy my books, too, when they are available. * Wink *

And on that subject…guess I better get to work, eh?  It’s 0900.  I’ve got my coffee, the kid is still asleep, and I’m ready.  I think.  Let’s see how today goes.

Charge!
