Onward

Just when I was congratulating myself on getting lots and lots of my archives over here, I notice…123 posts.

Yeah, I’ve got over a thousand on my old blog.  This…may take some time.  Especially as one post in ten isn’t transferring properly for some reason.

It’s worth it.  Just keep telling myself that.  It’s worth it.

It is worth it.

Welcome (again!) to the new home of KD and all her voices!  I’ll try not to kill it again.

So somebody had this brilliant idea on one of my forums.

A shared world, created by any Sporker (it's the Spork Room forum doing the deed) who wanted to drop in and do some creating.

Okay, so…don’t bother going to the new site yet. I crashed it.

Let’s hope big brother has a lot more patience than he used to, shall we?

I blame the not-supportive support forums of WordPress. I’ll tell you–I’m ready for a challenge, or I’d be running back here permanently, after a dip into those forums! Nasty, know-it-all people who will tell you they know what’s wrong–but won’t tell you how to fix it. It’s in the documentation, they say. Why didn’t you read it?

Umm…I did? Or at least, a lot of it. The documentation is very friendly, but with all the flexibility of WordPress, there’s a hell of a lot of it. No one on the planet is going to read ALL of it before trying to get creative. But boy will you get snooted at if you ask for help on the forums when it’s in the documentation…

So that’s what happened. I wasn’t going in there asking for help no matter what, so I bumbled along on my own, and I screwed up. Hopefully D can fix it fairly easily. When he gets home from work tomorrow.

In the meantime, no playing on the new site. ~sigh~

If you’re thinking of leaving Blog-city and starting a WordPress blog–don’t. I know I wouldn’t, if I didn’t have my big brother to look after me. He’s my big brother AND a geek. I’m in good hands.   

My wonderful brother has graciously allowed me room on his site. So I’m moving. Learning CSS, too, looks like, since it won’t be done for me as it is here…

Here’s the link. I hope y’all will follow me. I’ve great plans for more stories, more content, more gazmos…just as soon as I get things figured out. I’ve already posted one of my fanfic PWPs there. One that can’t be found here!

I’ve been with blog-city for over four years. And I’ve been very, very happy here. I have, however, been thinking how I’d like to expand beyond the blog format. This is my chance.

And it’s stepping out on a limb a bit. Learning new things, shaking things up. How can I resist?
