Before the Republican National Convention, police raids in the Twin Cities are taking another whack at democracy and justice. Here’s the link. Some important points–five raids, five arrests, though one would presume they’ve found more than one person at each site. No charges. Give Obama ten minutes, and dare to hope again. In the movies, a character feeling the way I do might well douse the irritant with lighter fluid, toss a match and walk away. Sadly, I can’t afford lighter fluid. Also, I can’t decide what to torch. Fuggit. I wouldn’t get a great ending anyway–’cause I’m not living a movie. No, I’d just end up like that [...] There are days when it all just falls in on me. I feel alone, abused by the universe, and just for added fun, I take on the pain of those around me.
